NEW WHATSAPP FEATURE WILL ALLOW HOTELS TO SEND AUTOMATED MESSAGES TO THEIR GUESTS

Earlier last week WhatsApp announced the launch of a new feature which would allow businesses to send non-promotional messages to customers.

The feature would allow hotels to send booking confirmations and reservation reminders to guests.

Initially the new WhatsApp feature will be available to a limited number of companies and will gradually be offered to more businesses.

The messages will be charged at a fixed rate for confirmed delivery, ranging from 0.5 cents to 9 cents per message depending on the country.

In addition to the Business API WhatsApp launched also a new ads product. It will allow companies to purchase Facebook ads with a chat button which launches WhatsApp conversations between them and their customers.

Both features are enabled by the Business API and will present many new opportunities to hotels to engage with their guests.
